Antitrust Law

The law firm has developed substantial knowledge in antitrust law matters. The defense in cases of violation to the antitrust law and in control of concentrations, such as mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, are the core activities of the law firm, which has defended and is currently defending domestic and foreign clients in complex and well-known cases.

In developing such activities, the law firm has acted both in the administrative sphere, as regards the Brazilian Antitrust System (CADE, SDE and SEAE) and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and within the judicial sphere.

The law firm also provides its clients with preventive counseling, through the development of antitrust awareness and compliance programs designed for each client, in accordance with its needs and profile, and of counseling of companies in daily matters needing to be examined in the light of the antitrust law, such as contract clauses, prior risk evaluation in merger, acquisition and joint venture projects, etc.

Whenever necessary for defending client’s interests, the law firm works with renowned economists experienced in antitrust matters.

For cases of violation of antitrust law which the client may be subject to criminal prosecution, the law firm seeks full legal assistance from its partners network in the Criminal Law area.

  • Assistance in daily matters of companies needing to be examined at the light of the antitrust law, such as contract clauses and prior risk evaluation in merger, acquisition and joint venture projects
  • Preparation of legal opinions and answers to questions submitted by companies
  • Defense and representation, both in administrative and judicial proceedings, of companies and individuals, whether domestic and foreign, involved in investigations/lawsuits relating the violation of the antitrust law
