On December 1st, 2011 it has been published in the Official Gazette the new Brazilian Antitrust Law, Law 12.529, that will enter into force on 05/29/2012.

On October 5th, 2011 the House of Representatives approved the new Brazilian Antitrust Law. The text is still subject to modifications (by veto) by the President. The main differences from the current law regarding the merger control are commented on below.
